Pleats are set by hand and pressed in, and the whole question with them is whether they are still there at the end of the night. These are set deep enough to survive a car, a dinner and a dance floor.
The waist is marked with a beaded belt, and the neckline is edged in the same beadwork, so the two catch the light together and the pleating between them is left to do its own work. The sleeves are cut wide and sheer, which keeps the arm loose without adding weight.
Made to order in six weeks. The hem is set at the fitting, because a pleated skirt shortened afterwards loses the line at the bottom.
